2012 in recap

So, it's been a while, or a year or two, since my last post.
But, first of all, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year!!
I'm not really sure that I still have a reader for my blog though.

First of all, 2012 is really such a year for me! In this year, I've met several amazing people.
One of my dreams is came true, that's awesome!
So, in 2012, finally me and my friend Mewox, have our first dance event. And I'm really proud of it.
We established Move'tivation (if you're a dancer in Indonesia, you might know what is it), an organizer where we invite a world known dancer and have them to teach a class in Surabaya.
And for 2012, we have Pat Cruz and Jekajane from Movement Lifestyle, USA.
They're such a humble and kind person, we really have a lot of fun with them, and hopefully give them a good impression of Indonesia.
We have them for 5 days, but unfortnately we can't show them Surabaya much since they got jetlagged and then Pat got sick on the last day. So he stay at the apartment whole day in bed *feel realy sorry for him*.
I think he got sick due to lack of sleep and food.. He slept in the morning and woke up by noon (so jetlagged), and everytime we asked him if he wants something to eat or was he hungry, he always reply "I'm good".
He only ate like twice a day, and not much.
But in the other hand, Jeka is very energetic, she plays, chat, tease and etc :)
(Pat is more mature)

The event is quite success, but not fully booked. Seems like Jeka and Pat is not really well known in Indonesia, I wonder why.
Ans we were really struggling back there, finacially.
There were only the two of us, and we have to find sponsor, hotel, flight, etc.
In the end, we can't even reach a balance (yes, we loss quite a lot).
But that's kinda worth it, and we're going to hold this anually.

Inviting an overseas dancer is really something. Especially if they are so so famous...
Such as Shaun Evaristo (we still unable to reach him) and Lyle Beniga (we can reach him, but can't match the schedule yet, hopefully we can make it for another time).
They have a really high rate and have a minimum class to teach.
But we will work hard to have another great dancer this year!!

These are several dancer that comes in mind for this year event
Puswood
Tony Tzar
Lyle Beniga (but you know the schedule doesn't match)

Move'tivation

The word itself is from Movement and Motivation. No. We're not taking it from mL Movement. We took it basically since a movement is needed in dance.
There's never come in mind that people will consider that we took it from mL(copycat etc) cause basically we're not mL, and we're nothing compare to them.
Yes, we made this Move'tivation as a place where we facilitate Indonesian dancer that want to learn from overseas dancer but not able to go overseas due to time, money etc.
So, we invite those dancers to come and teach here.
And why Motivation? Since our goal is to help motivate Indonesian dancer to move forward, improve, inspired by taking their classes.
And later on we realize that Movement is not only needed in dance, but in life. So why don’t make it to help motivate and inspire people in life, not only dance.

A little history.

There’s never come in mind that we’ll make a Move’tivation or anything. We always want to invite overseas dancers to come and teach here. It’s all started when we were able to join a masterclass in Singapore. But unfortunately only some of us could go. And we thought, it would be great if we could take the teachers to Indonesia so we don’t need to go overseas and all of our friends would be able to join the class.
It had come in mind but we were not dare to take it since there was a lot to think about first.
There was several times we contacted some dancers to come to Indonesia and asked them to come, but we never got a deal with them due to several reasons. And then, on 2011 one of us once again try to contacted and asked about having them in Indonesia.  We actually didn’t have any plan to actually invite her, simply just we want to know what does it take to have them here.
Her name is Jeka. She’s so humble and willingly to help. Some others don’t want to fly so far just to teach 2 classes. But she said yes!! (she also the one who helped so we can had Pat)
Since we got a deal, next thing is to thing about the name. Several silly names came in mind, but then we decide to use Move’tivation as our name.

Our goals.
More  overseas classes!
A studio!

Started from only 2 persons, now we have 5 persons and plan to recruit more.

We also want to thank all the people who  had helped us for our first event. Without you guys, we wouldn’t be able to make it J

Please looking forward for our next event in 2013 ;)
And for those who were not be able to join Pat and Jeka’s classes and still interested in it. Who knows, we might have them back again in Indonesia.

TBG 2010

Me and my friends (there were 5 of us, me. Mewox, Bochilz, Edwin and Nikki) went to Singapore this July to watch The Big Groove 2010 and to join Hok's masterclass. (Hok is a member of Quest Crew just in case yo don't know who he is).
This event was made by OSchool Singapore.
This is an annual event. Usually held on July to celebrate Singapore anniversary and to gather all Asian best dancer.

This year event was held on July 11, and the masterclass is on July 8-10.

We departed on July 8 and arrived at Singapore around 6pm.
Our friend Houker picked us up at airport (we stayed at his house since it's cheaper than took a hotel room).
That night, Houker took us out for dinner at Youth Park, introduced us to some of his friend (Tir, Afgan and Jes), played pool, then off to Clarke Quay just to show us around.
Me, Boch and Houker played some adrenalin attraction (I forget the name).
We played two of them. One that threw u away to the sky (like one in Bali), and others pulled you back (very high) and then just threw you to the front. ('~')
It cost you SGD40 to play one game, but if you play two of them it cost SGD60.

Day 2
We started the day by took McD for breakfast.
Singapore is totally different from Indo.
You could order McD from web!!
LOL
The portion was quite big too. (I lost my appetite when at Singapore, dunno why)
Then we went to a mall (after we accompany Houker to met his clien) which sell products in discount price.
Then took a walk to Queensway.
And then took a bus to Scape, Orchard where Hok's masterclass was hold.
(There's a tragedy on our way to Orchard. When we ran to catch a bus, and Mewox fell and hurt her leg.. Poor her)

On our way to Scape, we met Ryanimay and Feng in front of Cineleisure.
Feng is tall and Ryanimay is cute (totally).
We took a picture together, they signed Edwin and Nikki's t-shirt.
That was fun.

This is our picture with Feng and Ryanimay (I'm the one in red)

Then, time for Hok's class.
We joined his class, and it's kind of difficult and fun though.
After the class, we took a picture with Brian too.
Since we were going to give Hok a present (July 11 is his birthday), so we waited in front of the class (he still busy dealing with his masterclass student)
Me and Boch waited in front of the door while Mewox, Edwin and Nikki busy with Quest t-shirt (they sold Quest t-shirt, yeah the original one).
Finally, (I'm not telling the details since it might bored) we able to gave it to Hok.
He seemed a little bit surprise and excited.
This is what we gave him

Hok's bday graffiti made by our friend Joan "Kipop"

Rino Nakasone t-shirt

Quest purple t-shirt (Feng and Ryanimay saw this too and they seemed happy for it)

Quest purple t-shirt
All t-shirt was made by Hightreet Fosho (email: highstreet_fosho@hotmail.com or visit them on fb)

Hok was happy when he received and looked at his present, and that made us even happier.

With Hok (he's holding our present)

With Brian, Hok and Aris

That was great, they are all so nice and friendly.
Totally won't forget that moment.

After that, we went Shaw's house to watch a movie with our friend Mg.
The movie was Despicable Me.
Once again, unlike Indo. Singapore's studio is huge. I really have no idea which movie played in which studio. LOL
We watched Despicable Me in 3D.
It was a great movie.
I kept laugh during the movie.
Hilarious!!

Uh Oh!
I have to take my lunch now.
I'll continue this post as soon as i can.
Bye for now.
